Challenge

Mehmet Kemal Dedeman was more than the founder of a hotel empire—he was a figure who left a quiet but lasting mark on Turkish business history.

When Dedeman Holding approached us to create a commemorative book in his name, the goal wasn’t to simply document a life, but to design a deeply personal portrait of the man behind the achievements. The challenge lay in navigating an expansive archive of photographs, published works, interviews, and handwritten journals—transforming fragments into something whole, respectful, and real.

Goal

We began by immersing ourselves in the Dedeman Archive, exploring a vast body of material—from formal biographies and family photographs to private diary entries and personal notes.

Through careful research and editorial curation, we uncovered the essence of a man driven by vision, warmth, and a profound love of work.

The book took shape as a quiet and thoughtful collection, titled “Bu Duygular Samimi,” a phrase taken from his own words. Every element—from structure to typography, pacing to imagery—was designed to evoke presence without spectacle. To accompany the launch, we also developed a short film to capture and communicate the tone of the book in motion.

Result

The final publication was more than a tribute—it was a living document of character, value, and personal clarity.

Later, the core content of Bu Duygular Samimi was revisited for a new purpose: we created an entirely new editorial and visual expression titled “Kartalın Yolculuğu,” developed specifically for a contemporary art biennial. This reimagined version allowed the narrative to reach new audiences and contexts—reframed in a more reflective and artistic environment.
